Chuck Close (Washington, 1940 - Oceanside, 2021) was a North American painter, visual artist and photographer who created large-format photorealistic and abstract portraits. He was awarded the National Medal of Arts of the United States. His work is part of the collections of museums like the Pompidou in Paris and Tate Modern in London.
